Tincture of Yarrow
Relieves minor pains
Prevents infection
Stops bleeding of skin wounds
Promotes healing of skin wounds
Yarrow is an antiseptic, astringent, blood purifier, diaphoretic, diuretic, and stimulant. YARROW (Achillea millefolium) Yarrow is well-known for its use as a remedy for cold/flu/fever. It is best to use Yarrow as a hot tea during the first stages of sickness, especially in combination with Elder, Catnip and Mint. It is tonifying and anti-inflammatory to the skin and mucus membranes of the stomach and bowels; thus, helpful for varicose veins, gastroenteritis, dysentery, and diarrhea. As a hemostatic, Yarrow helps to stop bleeding of stomach ulcers, hemorrhoids, and for nosebleeds (especially those due to allergies). Yarrow is an ally for women as it helps to tone the uterus and promote balance in their menstrual flow. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it helps to relieve the dull, achy menstrual pains; it also helps with postpartum bleeding and abnormal flows by acting as a hemostatic.
Like all diaphoretics, Yarrow increases blood flow to the skin and lowers blood pressure in the process. Other internal uses may include: to help clear blood clots; rheumatism; lung congestion; chronic cystitis and urethritis; mucus discharge of the bladder; nephritis (Bright's disease); smallpox; chicken pox; glandular imbalances; and diabetes. Due to its high level of tannins, Yarrow is also an excellent wound healer. External uses include: Athlete's Foot; wounds; muscle and joint pain and inflammation; bleeding; toothaches and gum infections (chewing the root).
Suggested Dosage or Use: Use 6-12 drops in juice, water, under the tongue or as desired. May be taken 3 times daily. Shake well. Store in cool dark place. Keep out of reach of children.
WARNING: Do not use while pregnant.
CAUTION: Possible side effects include allergic skin rash or inflammation, bleeding, increased light sensitivity. Moore suggests that this herb is not appropriate for long term use during pregnancy.
Traditional Historical Uses: Well-known for its use as a remedy for cold/flu/fever, best taken during the first stages of sickness. Tonic and anti-inflammatory for the skin and mucus membranes of the stomach and bowels, thus helpful for gastroenteritis, dysentery, and diarrhea. Buying Handmade: Handcrafted soaps by Breathless Beauty
I love handmade soap and I also have a serious sweet tooth, so I was pleasantly surprised to find something that catered to my favorite things.
Dawn Dillon is the owner of Breathless Beauty and her soaps are made from scratch using the cold-process method of soapmaking. I must tell you, the soaps smell amazing and the scent satisfies my love of sweets without all the calories! Currently sitting in my shower are the Blueberry Cake and Walnut Brownie soaps (pictured.)
Dawn's soaps are made with natural, skin-soothing ingredients such as olive, coconut and palm oils and are never made with any animal fats or milk derived from animals. Pick up a batch of her handmade soaps at the upcoming Artisan Market in Brooklyn on Saturdays in April.

Thumbs Up!: Breathless Beauty

I had the pleasure of sampling some of Breathless Beauty’s products and am definitely giving them a THUMBS UP!
The Cloverberry Body Souffle had an interested scent, I’ve never actually smelled anything like it! The mixture of clove with the cocoa butter is a musky aroma. The souffle was a little hard at first but it warmed up quickly and did wonders on my hands!
I also tried some Walnut Brownie Soap. The smell was TO DIE FOR! Made me want to bake brownies! The lather was really great and the bar has lasted through a lot of use. Definitely recommend it!

A`Day of Inspiration
We spent a family day at Prospect Park by the lake and fed some geese and walked and talked. As we did this I was watching the foliage and the plants and have some new inspiration for my upcoming crafts. What better than to open your mind to nature for inspiration.
We also did 2 more sheets of paper that look and feel fabulous!
Will post pics soon.
